I am conscious of the fact that I will have to leave faults and faulty people of the family aside. To a modern and critical mind it seems a kind of dishonesty with your job. Of course it may seem, but I am not to promote evil anywhere. There were/are of course some bad people, I have also heard about them, but I will not write about them here. I may not have solid reasons, but I do not want to give any reason as well. If I must have to say, I will say that the number of such people is too small. Nearly five percent. Then they too have ninety five percent good and five percent faults. Mostly I feel I should ignore that five percent.

As Salam ‘Alaykum
I am a brother from North America who has the name Syed _____ Ahmad Shah. As far as I know, it has stayed the same for the past 100-150 years at least. My father was born in India, modern day Pakistan if I am not mistaken.
How would be able to find more information about my lineage, etc. Any tips would be helpful. May Allah reward you.
